CASBAA membership still growing

Hong Kong, July 20, 2007 – The Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) has announced two new Patron and four Corporate Members of the Association for the second half of 2007.

The two new Patrons are based in the US: global video transmission specialist Genesis Networks and mobile technology supplier Qualcomm MediaFLO Technologies.

Meanwhile, another four organisations have signed as Corporate Members, including law firm Minter Ellison, with Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, Indonesian DTH platform PT Direct Vision, Singapore-based satellite services provider SAT-GE and Mumbai and Delhi-based news media and entertainment company Television Eighteen.

“It is exciting to see the continuous growth of our membership, reflecting strong global confidence in the Asia Pacific market,” said Simon Twiston Davies, the CEO of CASBAA.

In April six Corporate Members also joined CASBAA, including Tata Sky of India.

CASBAA now represents the interests of some 125 member companies from across 14 Asia Pacific markets, covering multiple sectors including cable, satellite, broadband and mobile TV content suppliers and platforms, as well as equipment vendors.

Upcoming programs for the rest of this year include the CASBAA Sports TV Forum in Beijing on August 24th and the CASBAA Convention 2007 in Hong Kong on October 30th – November 2nd.
