| At WRC-07 Pakistan signed the IMT opt-in footnotes 5.432B and 5.433A.
Pakistan started licensing WiMAX in the 3.5 GHz band before WRC-07. The main operators that are operating WiMAX networks in this band are Mobilink Pakistan, www.mobilinkgsm.com, a subsidiary of the Orascom Telecom Group, and Wateen Telecom, www.wateen.com, an Abu Dhabi Group. Both companies are mainly cellular phone operators but also operate FWA WiMAX networks in the 3.5 GHz band. Mobilink is Pakistan’s leading cellular service provider but also operates a FWA WiMAX network using Alcatel equipment. Wateen has deployed a large WiMAX network in Pakistan covering over 70 cities. The network operates in the 3.5 GHz band using Motorola equipment. Wateen provides WiMAX service to over 250,000 customers using customer premises equipment (CPE) devices for both indoor and outdoor use. The equipment is based on the 802.16e (mobile) standard. |

| Present Situation | |||||||
| The government has announced that it has no intention to alter its allocation of the 3.5 GHz band to BWA. Bands suitable for consideration for IMT under WRC-15 agenda item 1.1:
Pakistan is in footnote No. 5.429 which also allocates the band 3 300 – 3 400 MHz to the fixed and mobile services on a primary basis and as such can be used for BWA. |

| Interference into FSS C-band Applications | |||||||
