Malaysia | |||||||
History | |||||||
At WRC-07 Malaysia did not sign any of the IMT opt-in footnotes in the 3 400 – 3 600 MHz band. Prior to WRC-07 Malaysia had experimented with BWA in the 3.5 GHz band but all such licenses have been recalled and there are no BWA operating in the 3.5 GHz band.
Present Situation | |||||||
Malaysia gives priority to FSS in the C-band. Like virtually all administrations Malaysia does allow point-to-point radio relays in the C-band. Such sharing constitutes efficient use of the spectrum and is well established with the ITU RR containing coordination procedures for such sharing. The Malaysian requirements for fixed point-to-point systems sharing with FSS are given at: http://www.skmm.gov.my/skmmgovmy/files/attachments/SRSP507a_15_10_09.pdf. Bands suitable for consideration for IMT under WRC-15 agenda item 1.1:
Malayia is in footnote No. 5.429 which also allocates the band 3 300 – 3 400 MHz to the fixed and mobile services on a primary basis and as such can be used for BWA. |

Interference into FSS C-band Applications
Presently there is no interference from BWA into FSS earth stations operating in the C-band.
