THE CASBAA SLATE 2011

HONG KONG (January 3, 2011) – As part of its re-branding initiative, CASBAA has released its 2011 schedule of events and publications and unveiled more flexible web tools to enhance Member resources and user experience.

“As we head into the second decade of the 21st century, we must ensure that CASBAA remains a central voice for the multichannel video market across the Asia Pacific,” said Simon Twiston Davies, CEO of CASBAA.

“The variety and breadth of the advocacy, information and events provided by CASBAA, along with more timely market and sectoral updates through digital and internet offerings, will enable the Association and its Members to keep pace with the dramatic advances within our dynamic industry.”

With regulatory change almost a constant in markets as diverse as India, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore, CASBAA’s role as an interface between industry and government has become ever more important.

“As game-changing technologies regularly turn business plans on their heads and person-to-person networking delivers more value than ever to our Membership, the CASBAA programme for 2011 is set to be more central than ever to the diaries of our Members and their guests,” said Twiston Davies.

The CASBAA Calendar 2011 is designed to keep Members informed, enlightened and connected. Anchored by the annual CASBAA Convention, the meeting schedule includes popular quarterly networking Mixers and conferences supported by an increasingly sophisticated Delegate Matching Program to foster industry growth in markets such as India, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, China and the Philippines.

Complementing the events Calendar 2011, a comprehensive selection of Member publications will be focused on the multichannel video delivery market including a second edition of the indispensible Regulating for Growthdigest of market regulations, which describes and critiques the regulatory environment for pay-TV in 16 Asia-Pacific markets.

Other CASBAA Member publications for 2011 include the full CEO Sentiment Survey 2011 and the CASBAA-promoted Asian Television Advertising Coalition (ATAC) Subscription TV Advertising 2011 handbook and its supporting website at http://www.casbaa.com/atac; the data-driven Asia Pacific Pay-TV Industry 2010 report supplemented by the Programming and Packaging 2011 analysis of the programming strategies of a dozen leading Asian pay-TV operators.

The publication line-up 2011 also includes exclusive national profiles for CASBAA Members of Thailand, Korea and Australia along with the annual regional CASBAA contacts directory for Members and the quarterly CASBAA Connections Members magazine.

On the digital front, more interactive functions will be introduced as part of CASBAA Online. Among enhancements will be video frame banner ads and pre-roll functions with the implementation of new Forums for six CASBAA Committees, plus one general forum, to facilitate communications and the exchange of views among Members. The next year will also see the roll-out of a CASBAA mobile site where Members can stay connected to the Association – anytime, anywhere.
