ASTRO ad revenue up 17%

Astro ups revenue by 11%, ARPU up 6%, ad revenue up 17%
Malaysia: Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd grew average revenue per user (ARPU) 6% to RM92/US$30 in the nine months to the end of October, the company said last night. The total customer base was up by 278,000 subscribers – 132,000 for the Njoi platform and 146,000 for the pay-TV service – to 3.35 million. The platform attributed the growth to "higher take up of value added products and services, as a result of our continuing investment in content, talent and customer innovation". Revenue was up 11% from RM2.8 billion to RM3.1 billion. Ad revenue was up 17% to RM360 million/US$118 million. Net profit was RM336 million/US$110 million
