Despite a fragile global economy, global ad spend is expected to increase 4% this year and 5.5% in 2014, ahead of the 3.9% estimate for 2012, according to Warc’s Consensus Ad Forecast.
The forecast predicts that 11 of the 13 featured markets will see an increase in ad spend this year, with all of the markets posting growth next year.
The US is set to post a 2.2% rise in ad spend this year and 4% in 2014. However, the fastest-growing market this year is tipped to be Russia with a 12.3% increase, followed by China (10.9%) and Brazil (9.8%). Spain is expected to log the worst performance, with ad spend down 2.8%.
By 2014, as per the report, Brazil will take over the top spot in terms of growth, up 12.1%. India (12%), China (11.2%) and Russia (11%) will follow and Spain, despite remaining at the bottom of the list, is predicted to return to positive health with a 0.2% lift.
The forecast suggests that the internet will see in excess of a 13% annual increase going forward, yet this is slightly down from the estimated 14.4% increase recorded last year. TV is expected to remain robust with a 3.2% in ad revenues in 2013 and 6.4% in 2014. Read more http://www.mandmglobal.com/news/10-01-13/global-ad-spend-tipped-to-rise-4-in-2013.aspx
