I&B Secretary questions the credibility of Peoplesmeter for TRP measurement

January 30, 2013 - Information and Broadcasting Secretary Shri Uday Kumar Verma has questioned the credibility of the Peoples Meter to measure the television rating points (TRP) and the need to develop own unique TV viewing measurement system.

Uday Kumar Verma expressed such concern while addressing the BES Expo 2013 being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Further speaking on the system of TRP measurement Verma said "Government is not concerned about the TRP measurement system however when there is a deterioration of content government needs to intervene in it."
