HKTV Pulls Ahead In Battle For Free TV License

Hongkongers have given their support for new free TV licenses to Ricky Wong's HKTV, according to research.

A Lightspeed Research panel of some 2,400 people conducted last week shows the majority support new domestic free-to-air TV licenses, and HKTV in particular.

This should come as no surprise, given the publicity the channel has received after it posted trailers for new programming on YouTube and Facebook, despite not yet being granted a license.

A total number of 876 people hoped the government would issue license to HKTV, while 111 hoped Fantastic TV (under HK Cable TV) would gain a license and 117 hoped Hong Kong Television Entertainment (under PCCW) would win a license.

A total of 835 people hope the government would issue more licenses, but had no preference for any broadcasting company. Read more http://www.marketing-interactive.com/news/40514
