Malaysia's adex seen charting stronger growth

RHB Research expects Malaysia's advertising expenditure (adex) to chart stronger growth in the second half of this year.

In its note to investors last Friday, the research house maintained an "overweight" call on the sector with Media Prima Bhd as its top pick.

"We reiterate 'buy' on Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd and Catcha Media Bhd, while keeping our 'neutral' stance on Media Chinese International Ltd (MCIL)," it said.

In the first half of this year, adex recovered by 19 per cent to RM6.04 billion, from RM5.08 billion a year ago.
