BARC signs Mediametrie as tech partner for six years, eyes roll-out of ratings from 1 Oct
With the noose of the new TV rating guidelines slowly tightening around TAM Media Research, industry body Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) has taken another step towards putting in place an alternative TV rating system.
BARC, which has 60 per cent representation from the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) and 20 per cent each from Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and the Indian Society of Advertisers (ISA), today signed up French audience research company Mediametrie as its technology partner for six years.
The deal will see Mediametrie providing key technology services and licensing, helping BARC in procuring metering hardware.
