Hong Kong, 20 May 2011 – CASBAA announced today that long standing member STAR India has upgraded its membership to Patron status effective immediately.
“The Association recognizes the incredible development of the industry in India and STAR’s upgrade in membership is a testament to CASBAA’s support and efforts to nurture the growth of the market in the region,” said Marcel Fenez, Chairman of CASBAA.
STAR India, a leading media and entertainment company, has a portfolio including 33 channels in seven languages spanning household brands, joint venture channels and a portfolio of business ventures.

Since the beginning of 2011, CASBAA has added nine organisations to its membership roster including Great Wall Industry Corporation (China), Dolby Laboratories (USA), GBN Global Broadcasting Network (Thailand), GEO-TV (Pakistan), MCOT Public Company Limited (Thailand), Newtec (Belgium), Times Television Network (India) and TransAsia Lawyers (China) as well as the STAR India upgrade.
