CASBAA notes ‘Transmission Troubles’ from WiMax deployments
CASBAA today released a new report highlighting the threat to television services posed by the deployment of Broadband Wireless Access services (such as WiMax) in the radio frequency band used for the wholesale distribution of satellite television signals in Asia.

Australia: Response of the Global VSAT Forum, APSCC and CASBAA to ACMA
On behalf of APSCC and CASBAA, The Global VSAT Forum (“GVF”) provided comments to ACMA consultations on “Improving the Management of Government Spectrum Holdings” and “Five-year Spectrum Outlook 2009-2014.” The comments focus on the use of C-band frequencies by the fixed satellite service (“FSS”) and the potential use of these frequencies by other services.
CASBAA refutes Singapore sports claim
A widely read Singapore newspaper column called for new controls on pay-TV services thanks to rising consumer prices for sports content. “Consumers enjoy a far greater range of television content options today than at any point in history,” said CASBAA in its published response, “and competitive forces are going to continue to increase those options – as long as the government stays its regulatory hand…”
